The color displayed on the serial port LCD screen has nothing to do with the host microcontroller, generally 65K colors.
The LCD display is composed of each pixel, and the structure above the serial port and parallel port LCD screen determines the operating speed of these pixels. The writing speed of the parallel port LCD screen is determined by the speed of the upper single-chip, the faster the upper single-chip, the shorter the writing time. The serial port has nothing to do with the upper single-chip speed, mainly related to the baud rate of the serial port.
The serial port LCD screen mainly includes serial port communicator, Flash controller, LCD display controller, SDRAM controller, bus controller, etc. Accept the instructions from the host computer through the serial port, and execute the corresponding display operation after translation. Pictures and fonts are stored in Flash in advance and can be called directly. The parallel port LCD screen is mainly composed of a liquid crystal display controller, an SDRAM controller, and a parallel port controller. Under the control of the clock, the agreed data sent by the parallel port is temporarily stored and displayed, that is, what information is sent, I will display what content.
The serial port LCD screen is suitable for products with a colorful interface and a complex display of many characters, and the performance of the host computer is not high. The parallel port LCD screen is suitable for products with simple interface, real-time data acquisition and display, and high-speed drawing.
Through the above analysis, the price of the parallel port LCD screen is cheaper than the serial port LCD screen.
